Position-Specific Skills Development
I provide focused, position-specific training to help players master essential skills:
• Passing & Catching: Develop precise and reliable passing and catching techniques, under pressure and on the move.
• Tackling & Jackaling: Build confidence and technique in contact, focusing on safe, effective tackling and winning the ball at the breakdown.
• Scrummaging Techniques: Specialized 1v1 scrummaging techniques for props, hookers, and tight five players, focusing on power, technique, and coordination.
• Tight Five & Back Row: For forwards, develop scrummaging, mauling, lineout skills, and breakdown efficiency, specific to tight five and third-row roles.
• Halfback & Flyhalf Playmaking Skills: For scrum-halves, refine quick, accurate passing and decision-making; for fly-halves, enhance playmaking vision, tactical kicking, and game control.
Speed, Agility, and Position-Specific Fitness
Each position on the rugby field requires unique physical demands, and I’ll help you build the necessary strength, speed, and endurance:
• Speed & Agility: Customized drills to improve acceleration, lateral movement, and reaction time, critical for backs and forwards alike.
• Fitness for Rugby Positions: Tailored fitness plans that match the demands of your position, from endurance for back-row players to power and strength for the tight five.
• In the Gym & on the Field: I offer holistic training that includes both gym-based strength and conditioning, and field-based drills to ensure well-rounded development.
Youth Rugby Skill Development Specialist
For younger athletes, I focus on instilling a love for rugby through engaging, age-appropriate skill development. With my experience in youth coaching, I provide a strong foundation in rugby fundamentals that builds confidence and sets players up for success as they progress.
