À propos de Sophie
To give a quick overview about me: I was born and raised in Luxembourg, and am therefore familiar with the Luxembourgish education system. After this, I completed my university studies in the UK, and did a Bachelor in English and Spanish at the University of Exeter, followed by a Masters in European and Latin American Literature at the University of Cambridge. My Bachelor also included a year abroad in Spanish-speaking countries, so I'm very familiar with the experience of having to navigate a new country in a language you're not totally familiar with and the struggles (but also amusing moments) this may result in!
Through my experience as a private tutor here in Luxembourg, but also through a summer job teaching at the Ministry of Education's "Summer School" last fall, as well as a previous internship with the ASTI where I was able to assist in adult language classes, I believe that I have a good foundation to be able to cater to a big variety of different students, regardless of their ages and backgrounds!

I have worked with individual students at different levels and in different languages, and I'm comfortable teaching both primary and secondary school students. A typical lesson would involve the student communicating the material they would like to revise or go over ahead of the lesson, and then meeting either online or face to face.
With adult learners who want to learn or practise a language, lessons usually involve a lot of verbal communication as speaking practise, or specific vocabulary that is useful in day to day interactions.
All my lessons are tailored very specifically to the student's respective needs, so it also depends on whether they want to focus on a particular aspect of the language, for instance grammar or speaking practise, or if they want to learn a new language from scratch. I'm happy to accommodate every learner's individual needs.
