À propos de Mayu
A pianist and piano teacher based in Paris, with over 20 years of international teaching experience. I teach students of all ages and levels, from passionate beginners to advanced pianists, with lessons tailored individually to each student.
My teaching combines technical foundation, musical sensitivity(A lot), listening, sound quality, and artistic expression.
I believe learning piano is not at all about playing notes correctly, but about developing a deep relationship with music and discovering one’s own voice through the instrument. I especially enjoy working with students who are genuinely curious, motivated, and emotionally connected to music. including adults who wish to begin or return to piano later in life.

Every lesson is carefully adapted to the individual student. Solfège, ear training, technique, musicality, and deeper artistic work are naturally integrated according to each student’s needs and goals. What matters most to me is helping each student develop a sincere and lasting love for music. When music becomes something one truly connects with emotionally, practice and learning no longer feel like obligation, but become a natural and joyful part of life. I strongly believe that it is never too late to begin learning music. Starting piano as an adult can be an incredibly rich and meaningful experience. Whether one studies for personal fulfillment, artistic curiosity, emotional expression, or long-held dreams, music has the ability to deepen one’s relationship with oneself and with the world. To me, studying an instrument is not only about acquiring technical skills or playing pieces correctly. Through encountering great music and engaging deeply with sound, one develops sensitivity, imagination, discipline, listening, and authenticity. Music offers a rare space where one can express something deeply personal and true. I feel very fortunate to share this process with my students. I am especially happy to work with students who are genuinely enthusiastic, curious, and passionate about music, regardless of age or level. Lessons are available in English, Japanese. Lessons take place either at my studio on a semi-concert grand piano — a Steinway & Sons Model B — or through home visits in Paris and online. For further details, please feel free to contact me.
